Versatile Milkhouse Space Heater with Safety Protection

Although most of the core components are built to the cheaper side of modern quality standards, the old fashion design is reliable and easy to repair with substitute parts that are different from the originals as well as having a serious performance advantage over more modern designs.

I've been using mine for almost a month with no problems but I'd advise you to turn it on for a few minutes outside before use in the living space as there's a coating of something on the element that burns off when powered on for the first time as is true with lot of other heaters.

The performance advantage comes in with the design of the heating element. Most heaters you'll find have the element encased in plastic which is a very flawed design that limits the performance to periodic impulses to avoid melting the plastic. This heater can run constantly at full power.

If the fan fails, there is a thermal cutout at the base of the heating element but it's fully exposed making it susceptible to rusting together enough for it to fail if used in a moist environment like a garage where a heater like this is ideal.

I got this to use in our sun room in the winter because with all the windows the temp can get cold and I didn't want something large. This unit is just the right size and allows me to customize the temp easily so it will stay warm but not keep heating constantly. The dual heat controls are nice so I can have it heat up quickly but then lower to just maintain a comfortable temp. Me being accident prone, having the tip sensor so it shuts off if knocked over is a nice feature too. I am really looking forward to using this and enjoying the events in my sun room this winter.

These work exceptionally well when our central heat went out, we put them on the 1300 instead of 1500 W setting cause you don't wanna overload your circuits. We put one in both bathrooms and the one in the bedroom. I kept the door shut. I kept the room at 72" and we have a decent size room about 250 ft.2 so yes I would say this product works as it should.

This heater throws out good heat and warms up a good size room. I bought two but only used one because my only concern was that the electrical plug and the receptacle got warm almost hot. I've never had that problem with anything I've plugged into that receptacle or any other one. I'm a little concerned about continuing to use it. But I'm not sure if there's a limit of time to use the heater because I used it for about four hours then unplugged it and that's when I noticed the electrical plug and receptacle both warm. Not sure if anyone else has ever experienced this with anything.

I like the tip over safety switch and the size of this heater. I have used it in my office for a few months now and it puts out a lot of heat and works well.

This is a good heater. Simple to operate, and no stupid digital controls, just real manual knobs that are easy to use.

heats well in 150 sq ft area. difficult to fine tune the thermostat to a specific temperature.
